      <image:title>Rescue Horses - Rescue Horses</image:title>
<image:caption>One vital aspect of Queen Hive Farm is our commitment to our horses. When looking for new trail prospects, we focus on older horses in need of rescue from slaughterhouse and auction situations. Many people don’t know that an estimated 100,000 American horses go to slaughter in Canada and Mexico annually to supply horse meat abroad for human and pet consumption. Since older horses make wonderful, experienced riding horses, we focus on buying new trail horses from situations like the slaughter auctions. Here are two of our wonderful trail horses that came from such situations. Meet Max, our Percheron, now in his early 30’s. Also, meet Gus, now in his later 20s. Both are still going strong with proper nutrition and care.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Trail Rides - Trail Rides</image:title>
<image:caption>What is the cost of the ride? $65 each What does the ride include? A tutorial, brief practice in the ring, the trail. How long is the ride? The trail is approximately 30 minutes. Plan for an hour experience counting the tutorial and practice. Is experience necessary? No experience is necessary. This is a beginner-level, walk-only ride. Can children ride? We take out kids as young as 4 on a small pony. Small children will be accompanied by a helper on the trail. What will I see? The ride is half woods, half fields. It’s a tour around the perimeter of the farm. We often see white-tailed deer, Eastern bluebirds, hawks and other animals. How do I book? All rides are by reservation only. A deposit is required. The deposit is refundable outside of 24 hours or in case of unrideable weather. Texting Jennifer is best because we often are in the saddle; email is second-best. Phone messages will be returned when possible. Text: 757-990-0017 Email: QueenHiveFarm@verizon.net What is the address? 11172 Atlantic Road, Assawoman, VA (sometimes comes up as Temperanceville). <image:title>Breeding - QHF Spirit of the Skyhawk</image:title>
<image:caption>Skyhawk is standing the 2021 season at Waterford Farm in Oxford, N.J. He is a stunning blast from the past. True black and only four years old, Skyhawk is the last son of the immortal park stallion FCF Esprit de Lark by Waseeka’s Skylark. His dam is the daughter of another Morgan park legend, Legacy’s Viking. With lots of natural motion, Skyhawk is a tribute to his park horse pedigree. Raised on a busy tourist property, he also has the extreme trainability and fantastic disposition of his sire, Esprit. Currently in training with Kathy Peeples at Waterford Farm, Skyhawk will make his show-ring debut this season. You can’t go wrong breeding to a horse of this caliber. It’s a rare opportunity to outcross to a stallion with fine, old bloodlines along with a gorgeous look, ability and personality to match! Stud fee: $700 LFG Height: 15hh</image:caption>

<image:caption>Shining Knight is offered at stud via A.I. through Harris Paint Horses in Federalsburg, Md. This incredible stallion is a rare black silver dapple. A trained reining horse, he has athleticism in spades to pass along to his foals along with fabulous coloring. His personality is the best; he is gentle and easy to handle. As with his stablemate, Skyhawk, you can’t go wrong breeding to this guy! Stud fee: $700 LFG Height: 14.3 hh</image:caption>
